Setup Global Settings

Begin at the Administer CiviCRM page. In the Setup section, choose Global Settings.

Site Preferences

Configure screens and tabs for viewing and editing contacts, search, contact dashboard, and select a WYSIWYG editor.

Directories

Configure directories in your file system for temporary uploads, images, custom files and custom templates. 

Resource URLs

URLs used to access CiviCRM resources (CSS files, Javascript files, images, etc.).

Outbound Email (SMTP)  

SMTP server, port and authentication settings for outbound email.

Mapping and Geocoding 

Configure a mapping provider (e.g. Google or Yahoo) to display maps for contact addresses.

Payment Processor

Select and configure a payment processing service for online contributions and / or membership fees.

Localization

Localization settings include user language, default currency and available countries for address input.

Address Settings

Format contact address input and display. Configure optional Address Standardization provider.

Date Formatting

Format date input and display.

Undelete, Logging and ReCAPTCHA - PDF Receipts, Version Checking, CAPTCHA, Link Lifespan, Contact Delete, Attachments, & other Misc. Settings

Enable version checking and configure optional CAPTCHA feature for Profile forms.

Debugging

Enable debugging features including display of template variables and backtracing.
