Return to Administrator's GuideInstant Messenger Services OverviewInstant Messenger Services provides a way to indicate the instant messenger services used by Contacts. There are a default set of Instant Messenger Services pre-installed with CiviCRM: Yahoo, MSN, AIM, GTalk, Jabber and Skype. Use this function to modify or add new services. Setup Instant Messenger ServicesBegin at the Administer CiviCRM page. In the Setup section, choose Instant Messenger Services. You will see a list of existing instant messenger service options. You can create NEW service options or Edit, Disable or Delete existing services using the links to the right of each service. NEWTo enter a New Instant Messenger Service, click on the >>New Instant Messenger Service link at the bottom of the list of options. Type in the Label, Description and Weight for each option. You can enable/disable the option by checking or unchecking the box labeled Enabled? Click Save to save the option. If successful, you will see the message:
EXISTINGFor EXISTING services you can Edit, Disable or Delete each option using the links to the right of each service. EDITSelecting Edit will bring you to the Edit Instant Messenger Service Options page where you can change the Label, Description and Weight for each option. Here you can also enable/disable the option by checking or unchecking the box labeled Enabled? Click Save to save the option. If successful, you will see the message:
DISABLESelect Disable to temporarily disable an existing service. You will see the warning:
Click OK to continue or Cancel to cancel disabling the premium. To re-enable the service, simply click on Enable. DELETESelect Delete to delete the option. You will be given this warning:
Click Delete to continue or Cancel to cancel the deletion. |
