Include Profiles

You may want to collect information from contributors beyond what is required to make a contribution. You can add any number of fields to your contribution form by selecting existing Profiles to include at the beginning of the page and/or at the bottom. See instructions for setting up profiles at Profiles Admin.

Profiles used in a contribution page can only contain fields which belong to:

  • Contact records
  • Individual records
  • Contribution records

If you add fields that are associated with any other record types, you will get an error when you preview your contribution page.

It is recommended to include a profile to collect name and address information on contribution pages. CiviCRM will use the name data to automatically populate the contributor's addressee and greeting fields, and the address will be stored as home or work (depending on your profile settings) separate from the billing address.

Next to Include Profile (top of page) select a Profile from the dropdown menu to be included at the top of the contribution page (immediately after the introductory message).

If you want to include a second set of fields, next to Include Profile (bottom of page) select a CiviCRM Profile from the dropdown menu to be included at the bottom of the page.

Click Save to save the page, Save and Done to return to the Manage Contribution Pages menu, or Cancel to cancel the configuration.
