The Vermont Progressive Party is the most successful third party in the United States in electing representatives to state legislatures.

They use CiviCRM to track the voting intentions of their voters. JMA Consulting was brought as a technical consultant after they had been having some difficulties with an earlier implementation. An audit found that their hosting environment was insufficient to handle the half million voters in their database, which had resulted in various crashes due to insufficient memory, leading to some data corruption.

JMA Consulting set up a new CiviCRM implementation on a flexible VPS hosting package with Rimu Hosting, cleaned up and migrated their existing data, tuned the performance of MySQL, PHP, and Apache for their load patterns, and set up a regular data import process for the Vermont Progressive Party to handle regular releases of voters lists with new and changed information.
