Is it possible to integrate CiviMail with Mailman?

Yes, it is possible to synchronize CiviCRM smart groups with Mailman lists.  Once you have a working Mailman installation (this article from Free Software Magazine may be helpful for those just getting started), see the Mailman synchronization page in the Developer Resources section for more details.
