Upgrade Drupal and CiviCRM

I'd like some advice on the best way to update a site from Drupal 4.6 with CiviCRM 1.4 to Drupal 5.0 with CiviCRM 1.6

Current configuration:

• CivicSpace v0.8.4 alpha 2 - (based on Drupal 4.6)
• CiviCRM v1.4
  Target configuration:
• Drupal 5
• CiviCRM v1.6

What is the best approach for this update?

• Option 1) Update CiviCRM to from v1.4 to v1.6 on the current Drupal 4.6 base and then update Drupal 4.6 to Drupal 5.0.
• Option 2) Update Drupal 4.6 to Drupal 5.0 and then update CiviCRM from v1.4 to v1.6.

I'd go with option 1. Make sure when you upgrade to drupal 5, you fix your CIVICRM_UF_VERSION setting to 5.
