Release Review - 2.0

Features which may promote developer/integrator/large site adoption

  • Customized search forms / queries
  • Group < - > Role synch module for Drupal.
  • CiviEvent
    • One-step Event Registration (similar to CRM-2239).
    • Incorporate the offline payment / pay later
  • Add "Previous" and "Next" contact in group navigation to contact detail screens to make it easy to browse through the contacts in a particular group.

Items on 2.0 Roadmap but NOT in Jira

  • Implement Ajax-based "click to edit" functionality for fields on Contact Summary screen (Name, Phone #'s, Email Address etc.)
  • Extend Auto-complete drop-down 'search' on contact name to streamline work-flow for the following tasks. We need to figure out how to allow the user to differentiate contacts with the same or similar names on select (maybe write the primary email and city/state to a read-only block next to the ComboBox when a contact is selected).
    • New Activity
    • New Relationship
    • New Contribution
    • New Membership
  • Add a autocomplete field for current_employer field in Individual editing form
  • Standalone (CMS agnostic) user framework
    • OpenID login system
    • Content integration for public pages (contribution pages, event registration pages, etc.)
    • independent ACL permissions (see below)
  • Nestable groups (see http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/Proposed+nestable+groups+implementation)
  • Multi-org support (see http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/Multi+Org+implementation+ideas and http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/Multi-Organization+Support+in+CiviCRM for discussion of this)
  • Move de-dupe to more places in code base - this is in Jira as CRM-2001 but spec is not developed and I don't know if any work has been done.
  • Configurable Contact Matching rules for Organizations and Households.
