Find and Advanced Search Interfaces

CiviCRM provides a simple find interface and most fields are searchable via the advanced search interface. Searchable fields include:

  • Contact Info
    Contact Type, name, email
  • Group
    Provides a drop down list of all groups in the system
  • Tag
    Provides a drop down list of all tags in the system
  • Location
    Includes street, city, state, country, postal code, and location type.
  • Activities
    Includes activity type and date of activity.
  • Custom Data
    Includes all custom data fields marked searchable.

Search Returns

  • Select Options
    You can select a single contact, multiple contacts, or all contacts returned by the search
  • Pagination and Navigation
    Navigate the list by page, alphabetically by letter, or sort by column to find a contact.
  • Actions
    Once you select contacts from the search return screen, you can take the following actions on selected contacts:
    Action
    Add/remove from group
    Tag contact(s)
    Export
    Print
    Send Email
    Delete
    Add to household/ organization
    Record Activity
    Map using Google Maps
    New Smart Group

Contact Detail Record

  • Tabs
    All major aspects of the contact record are accessible via tabs at the top of the screen including contact summary, activities, relationships, groups, notes, tags, and any custom fields set to display as a tab.
  • Contact Summary
    To edit location information or other basic contact information, click on the edit button.
