In a campaign setting, be it political or a nonprofit fundraising campaign, actions may apply to wide swath of users. Having to go in and do an "edit profile" for each is not manageable. Or, take the situation where a volunteer is calling through a phone list. They will spend more time going in and out of the profile edit screens then dialing. It would be great if there was a way to get an easily editable (think spreadsheet) layout of users so said volunteer could just go down the phone list typing in their call codes- "no answer" "left message" "wrong #" "Not interested," etc. then save at the end, rather than for each user profile. Maybe this would be a function of "create a list" from a search.

    Jason,
You've defined a challenging UI requirement which I'm hoping we can address in some way in our 2.0 release. It seems like what's needed is the ability to create contact list/update templates and then invoke them for a set of search results. The 'templates' would define a 'spreadsheet' like set of both read-only and editable columns (each of which is a property of contacts or related objects). And...I suspect for each site there would be the need for a number of these list templates for various use cases.

I've made some notes in our 2.0 Roadmap for this concept - although it's early to say how this will fall-out relative to other priorities.

    Thx for the excellent suggestion!
    dave
