Note: This scenario is very infrequent and thus is a low priority (priority 3). At a minimum, organizations should be able to follow a link to send an email request to Kabissa to cancel their membership.
Scenario
Bisi's organization, AAGB, has found a new Web host for their site, http://www.antigenderbinary.org. She hasn't found any other aspect of Kabissa membership helpful for her organization, including Kabissa Gong Gong and the Contact Directory. So, after transferring her hosting to a new provider, she decides to cancel her membership. She logs into the Kabissa site, navigates to her account and requests that AAGB's membership be cancelled.
Flow
Kabissa home page > User login > My Organizations > Cancel Organizational Membership > Cancel Org Membership Form > Confirmation Page
Detail
The administrator for an organization logs into the Kabissa site and looks at the My Account menu on the left hand side. Under My Organizationsthey will see a list of organizations with which they are affiliated. They wil click the name of the appropriate organization, and a page will open up showing the various actions they can take (see spec 10). If they have admin status, there will be a link to Cancel this organization's membership. When they click this link, a Cancel Organizational Membership Form will open up. The form will include the following fields:
- Organizational Name (prepopulated)
- Reason for Cancelling Membership - text box
- A list of hosting products (if any) and a check box confirming that Kabissa can delete hosting
It will also explain very clearly at the top of the page that associated individuals will no longer be able to access the members-only sections of the site (unless they are affiliated with another organization) and that any hosting accounts will be disabled and deleted.
When they submit the form, they will be taken to a page saying "You have succesfully cancelled your organization's membership. We're sorry to see you go. If you have any questions, please contact us (link to contact form for community@kabissa.org)"
On the backend, when the form is deleted, a confirmation e-mail is automatically sent (from community@kabissa.org) to all associated e-mail accounts. The contents of the form will be emailed to community@kabissa.org. The organization's status is changed to "Cancelled." The organizational profile is no longer visible in the profile directory or findable in site searches (except Step 1 of the Member Sign up process - see Spec 1) . Every relationship status will change to "Disabled." Individuals with no active relationships will also be inactivated and their logins will no longer work. If the organization has hosting products, their status will be changed to "Cancelled by organization." A Kabissa staff member will inactivate or delete the hosting products as necessary on the server side.
