Spec 1- Member Sign up
- Is it possible to add multiple entries of the same custom field (e.g. phone number)
- Conclusion: currently it is NOT POSSIBLE to do this - which poses problems for us. Feature request for future version of Civicrm.
Spec 2 - Update Profile
- For more discussion: Adding links and adding badges to profile (TOBIAS TO SEND EXAMPLES TO KIM AND LIZ SO WE CAN DECIDE)** The best example of badges, and maybe where the term was coined, is flickr.com, where you can get a snippet of code to paste into your own web pages to display your flickr "photo stream". A sample of this is http://www.mobileactive.org/ where any photo tagged with "mobileactive" gets displayed on the mobile active homepage. Other configurations are possible.** Delicious offers another flavor of this, where you can paste a snippet of code to display your "tag cloud" on your own web pages or a list of bookmarks (completely configurable using tags).** It is common for bloggers to promote each other's websites and to self-identify themselves with a network or point of view using small banners. The most prominent of these for human rights is the "I blog for Human Rights" banner.
- Technically, this is handled similarly to joomla modules, I think. Just provide a field for a title and another for a URL, RSS feed or an HTML snippet - and away you go.
- Interplay between these processes (i.e. inactivation of membership) and hosting (DEFER - HOW MUCH OF HOSTING STUFF CAN BE AUTOMATED? PART OF DISCUSSION DEALING WITH HOSTING SPECS)
- Need to determine definition of "activity" and when to ping organizations (LIZ TO PROPOSE DEFINITION TO DISCUSS WED 18 OCT)
- If a user edits multiple fields at once, there should only be one confirmation email sent out, not one per field/section edited. (WILL BE RESOLVED AS WE DETERMINE HOW UPDATES ARE DONE - ONE IDEA IS WEEKLY UPDATE EMAIL TO ADMINS SIMILAR TO CONFLUENCE)
- Open Issue: Require creative commons license and/or require confirmation that they have the right to publish this content (e.g. not reposting other people's copyrighted material) (DISCUSS AT FUTURE MEETING - TERMS OF USE SHOULD CONTAIN REFERENCE TO HAVING TO HAVE THE RIGHT TO PUBLISH IT, BUT WHAT LICENSE IS IT UNDER?)
Spec 3 - Member Search
- Layout and design of this page - infinite number of ways to be designed from a front end perspective. AJ recommended that we play around with a design program and just create some front end views that we like (also good idea for layout of profile pages) (TOBIAS TO SEND EMAIL TO LOBO AND OTHERS THAT MIGHT KNOW USABILITY EXPERTS AND TRY TO GET THEM TO COME VOLUNTEER - THEN KIM AND LIZ TO FORWARD TO VOLUNTEERS IN DC)
- Try to recruit a (volunteer) web usability expert to help us with this??
-
- Need to offer a way to browse all members??
-
- Issue with map: Kabissa members not based in Africa (make map just of Africa, with separate set of links to other regions??)
Spec 10 - Individuals
- How to switch relationship status from Inactive back to Active (TO DISCUSS WITH AJ)
- Does it take the admin to the People page (edit view), or the general profile page, on which there is a list of people? (LIZ TO CLARIFY IN SPEC)
- Policy for dealing with situations when single Administrator for an organization leaves and another contact should take over that role. Related issue: Ability for Kabissa to override Access Levels if needed. (liz REMOVE THIS ISSUE FROM SPEC)
- What can the various people logging into the site do? (TOBIAS TO MAKE CHART OF ROLES AND WHAT THEY CAN DO.)
- Perhaps Privacy controls can be integrated into main Individual Profile screen? (LIZ)
