The general concept is to provide users who have administer privileges on a screen / form with links to the configuration screen for that form. Use this page to:
|
Configure link (or icon) appearance and placement
Forms and Screens
- Profile search and listings, Profile create and edit, Profile view -> link to -> Profile fields list for that profile.
- Configure link for profile 2 on sandbox would be: http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/uf/group/field?reset=1&action=browse&gid=2
Notes and Comments
From Joe Murray via email:
I would put these sorts of links on all forms that have admin
functionality associated with the form. Eg for a cividonate page to its
overall admin page, direct links to each subpage of the admin wizard, also
to the admin pages for the profiles and their custom groups. On a
Membership or Event page, add links in addition to those just mentioned to
their specific admin sections.
It would likely be useful to have a cascading drop down menu for this, so
that one could, eg, have the admin menu display top level for page, then,
say on a contribute page, the profiles on the page as a submenu, the
custom groups included in the profile as a third level, perhaps even
individual custom fields or their multi-select values as possible lower
level options. I worry this might be too deep a menu, but it would be
logical, consistent and allow one-click access to all necessary admin
functionality.
No opinion yet on where to put on the page...probably top or bottom, maybe
right justified instead of left, maybe in some admin branded colour...? I
doubt it would work at top or bottom of a CiviCRM, but wanted to
brainstorm here - consistency is probably most important. Probably good to
use a widget that pops open on mouseover for admin menu items specific to
current page when js is enabled in browser.
