  • It would be best if you had CiviCRM sandbox installed on your own machine

Day 1

09:00-09:45 (45m) - Welcome, expectations, goals, administrativia
09:45-10:45 (1h) - Intro to CiviCRM architecture, Q&A
10:45-11:00 (15m) - Coffee break
11:00-12:30 (1h30m) - 1st exercises session
12:30-13:30 (1h) - Lunch break
13:30-14:45 (1h15m) - 2nd exercises session
14:45-15:00 (15m) - Coffee break
15:00-16:00 (45m) - BOF session
16:00-16:45 (45m) - Group discussion session
16:45-17:00 (15m) - First day wrap-up

Description: First day starts with work on practical exercises, in the spirit of learning through doing. Participants will divide into teams and work on specific task of varying level of difficulty. As we get to the end of the day, we'll start the first Bird-of-Feather (BOF) session, where topics are driven by participants. Last session of the day will be a group discussion about CiviCRM as a project, not software. We'll talk about plans, the ecosystem, what can be done better in order to make CiviCRM users and implementers lifes better.

Day 2

11:00-13:00 (2h) - 4th exercises session
13:00-14:00 (1h) - Lunch break
14:00-15:30 (1h30m) - BOF sessions
15:30-15:45 (15m) - Coffee break
15:45-16:30 (45m) - BOF sessions
16:30-17:00 (30m) - Meeting wrap-up, goodbyes

Description: Second day is a continuation and wrap-up of exercises from the first day. After lunch, we'll run two slots of Birds-of-Feather (BOF) sessions, where topics will be chosen based on specific interests of participants.

  • Unit testing, web testing for CiviCRM. Using tests to report bugs.
