Agenda and Goals for Developer Camp
Please outline the things you want to accomplish at Developer Camp. This will help us tailor the camp to your needs. You can either edit the agenda or add your goals as a comment.
Some ideas from Alpha International:
- Configuring Drupal & Civi roles & permissions
- Configuring the UI using 'Profiles' - to streamline data entry/simplify access from 'external' users
- Customising the UI - using custom pages
- Customising the UI - using 'hooks'
- Building custom searches
- Setting up Civi to work in multi-database mode (with common Drupal & Civi code base) - to enable 'bureau-style' operation
(see also things that people said they wanted to talk about when
Survey results from the London camp: subjects you might like covered
- Data export and import, custom search configuration, multi-site CRM management
I would like to know more about the template options for generating single and group emails and newsletter type notifications based on data that has been collected. (I am using civiCRM with Joomla.) - Multi-org, API, actions, campaigns, and sources.
I've not been to one before, so I really am there to explore.... future plans, so that I can align my work; getting started on development. - get in contact with other people using CiviCRM in Europe or if there are in German speaking countries - learn how to adapt CiviCRM to individual needs - database handling, what possibilities do I have to directly edit the CiviCRM database, especially to use custom data formats, that are not available through teh CiviCRM interface - user integration CiviCRM - Joomla, access rights managment and individual adaptation - performance issues: how to keep your CiviCRM Database as small and efficient possible for individual needs.
- It would be great hear about and have chance to input to the 2.3 user enhancements being looked at currently. We would love to hear about implementations of Civi that use non-standard 'Profile' and custom pages in order to create streamlined input and views for users (e.g. case studies, other user experience/examples) It may be a bit specialist, but we are interested in hearing about UK implementation of giving in Civi, particularly supporting the UK tax reclaim system (Gift Aid)
- General use of Civi and CiviEvents
- I'd like a tips a tricks session but then also a where everything is in the behind the scenes look at it on the different platforms (Drupal/Joomla/Standalone). I'd also like to go through reports/exports.
- Never been to a camp so dont know!
- My personal interest is an overview and technical details of how to get started as a developer; I would also like to 'tempt' an end-user along from the non-profit organisation I do voluntary work for - so please include end-user focused material as well. Ideally it would be way for end-users to meet each other and share best practice.
- I'd really like to learn how to use profiles effectively. I am interested in integrating CiviCRM with SMS.
- early days for us... Integration with Joomla, eg standard membership site wirth CiviCRM as member management and payment gateway to restricted/member content would be one core interest. Event registration/profiles and relationship to backend (eg does required front end have to equal required backend?) Cross browser issues for admins (IE users of events complaing about misaligned data)
- Depends on the audience. Would be good to meet NGOs who may have a requirement for work. For our developers, a more technical session where they can share and exchange knowledge, experience, best practice.
- I'd like to look into integration with CCK and Organic groups in drupal. Also how to best move from a Filemaker database to using CiviCRM for our organisation's daily tasks. I'll probably have started setting it up by June. I'll be using it only to hold member contacts information to begin with.
- mainly state of the project, modules (thoughts on current and future Drupal modules plus writing custom ones), templates and UI stuff, but would also be interested in API, hooks - anything else really
- I'd like to learn more about how CiviCRM works, and learn how to become more of a developer. I would like to meet with others in the UK who are involved in civiCRM and establish a network for mutual support.
- The architecture, how to best set up SVN for multiple accounts

This will be my first camp, and I would love to meet other European CiviCRM users and developers. I would like to discuss:
* customization, hooks and API's (and have some experience with the API's)
* architecture of CiviCRM
* functional requirements
* and will bring along our experience of 2 CiviCRM projects so far.

I just booked a hotel for the boot camp against a reasonable price. The hotel is in walking distance (as far as I can see
) of the meeting and is called Hotel Van Belle:

Already thanks for organising this in Brussels!
Our civi-site: www.socialeeconomie.be (in Dutch) with exports of the data to f.e. www.sociale-ondernemingen.be.
