I run a contracting business (Giant Robot) with a core focus on data management using PHP. We are enthusiastic users of open-source and do our best to contribute back to the community, and are looking forward to expanding our use of CiviCRM software in future projects.

Currently contracting to an NZ political party in the lead-up to the 2008 NZ elections, and aiming to work with other NGOs in the near future. Really looking forward to seeing CiviCRM devs in action, and being able to interact with other CiviCRM users as well.

Agenda items:

  • Understanding how CiviCRM handles a request - I want to be able to debug more efficiently, without having to walk all the way from the other end of output.
  • Remote interaction between CiviCRM and Drupal. We are implementing a tiered site structure, and want to pull data (eg office contact data from the CRM site to the public site, and taxonomy / interest areas data from the public site to the CRM site). Aiming to use drupal remote auth to authenticate main site users from the CRM site also.
  • Add log/hooks so we can record old address/phone etc when data is updated. We'd also like this to take effect when custom data is changed.
  • Deeper understanding of Activity / Case functionality. Implement interface to enable one-to-multi Activity functionality
  • Using != (not equals) in dynamic groups. How to build dynamic groups that include people by virtue of their NOT being members of another group? (Is this possible against dynamic as well as non-dynamic groups?) Build a custom group which is defined as "People who are not in Group A or Group B"
  • Selector issue - how to display a column without it becoming a link - relates to how CiviCRM handles "In Selector' and 'searchable' in profile settings.
  • Election campaigning - walk lists, call sheets. Will be investigating bringing CiviVoter/CiviCanvasser to 2.0 (but not this weekend).
  • Ubercart - interested in how we can leverage Ubercart facilities to bring some of its advantages (eg multiple payment processors) to CiviCRM
