Cynthia Tarascio

My interests and goals are to slowly make CiviCRM the database of choice for AFSC, to have one shared CiviCRM database per region, volunteer tracking and educating the AFSC Community about open source values and commitment to community. My constituencies:

  • As the Project Manager for all things related to CiviCRM, I identify with the AFSC staff population and with the consultants that I bring in for help
  • It is my responsibility to find the right database (CiviCRM of course J ) for our offices and to see to it that the implementation, training etc... are a success
  • Of late, I have regular meetings with staff in our External Affairs department. We are trying to get on the same page with regard to database usage and constituency outreach
  • I am merely the technical/support end. Once CiviCRM is in the hands of staff, they will use it to reach out to their constituents on all matters related to peace and social justice

Bilingual English / French sites are often needed in Canada. Joe has a Systems Design Engineering undergraduate degree, a doctorate in Political Philosophy, and extensive experience on non-profit boards, working as a political staffer, and leading and advising political campaigns in Canada.

Michael McAndrew

Michael has been working with CiviCRM since 2008.  He is based in the UK and has organised a series of UK usergroup meetings to help grow the UK CiviCRM network.  In June 2009 he organised (with lots of help from the CiviCRM core team) a developer training camp and user training day.  He's worked with non profits of all shapes and sizes in the UK and further afield since 2002, providing project management, implementation, configuration, and customisation.

He takes care of the Book Understanding CiviCRM: a guide for nonprofits, files bugs, contributes the occasional patch, and helps improve the wiki/documentation.

He's currently working on an implementation of giftaid for CiviCRM.  See http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/Gift+aid+requirements.

Michael runs Third Sector Design, an ICT consultancy for non-profits.

My company - fuzion - applies it strategic, creative and advocacy skills to help businesses, organisations and communities be more effective in their communications, campaigns and projects. CiviCRM work to date has involved a significant and complex build for a political party as well as more standard implementations for a range of not-for-profits. My skills are in project management, understanding and implementing business owner's needs and interfacing between developers and users.

Wes Morgan

Wes works with the online organizing team at The Public Interest Network (Environment America, U.S. PIRG, and others). Being the lead tech guy, he is constantly on the lookout for ways to get more done in less time without cutting corners. Open source software is the best way he's found yet to make that happen. The Public Interest Network is composed of around 80 different organizations of all shapes and sizes, so it needs software that is easy for entry level staff to use, but powerful enough to handle enterprise-level security, scalability, and centralization needs. As of early 2009, The Public Interest Network is in the process of rolling out CiviCRM as the new foundation of its online organizing platform. For future CiviCRM development, Wes is focused on reporting, API integration with other tools, and multi-organization support.

Xavier Dutoit

An open source advocate for more than a decade, Xavier Dutoit is interested in using technology to achieve social change. In his latest venture, Tech To The People, he partnered with a political campaigner in Brussels to work with progressive groups (trade unions and NGOs) to maximise the results of their scarce resources.

TTTP's mission is to develop a range of accessible, open source IT tools to help activists network together, share ideas and magnify the impact of their advocacy. We want to get these tools into the right hands and ensure that they are used effectively.

NGOs are excellent at building relationships but remarkably poor at using tools to track and maintain these relationships. CiviCRM can help NGOs to efficiently manage their contacts. Our goal is to make it even more user friendly and better tailored to the needs of NGOs working in the EU political environment.
